No, you did not read that headline incorrectly.
Raw Thrills, one of the last companies making arcade games (they made a pretty terrific light gun game based on The Walking Dead that’s at my local arcade), are making a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles four-player arcade game inspired by the Konami games of yesterday. It will be based on the latest animated series currently airing on Nickelodeon, even going as far as to feature the official voices from the show, and will come in a cabinet about nine feet high and four feet wide so that four players can crowd around and play it, just like in the late 80’s and early 90’s. In an article with Arcade Heroes, Raw Thrills had this to say:
“This new version of TMNT is a completely new re-imagining of the brawler concept. There are more moves, more environmental interaction, cool Turtle Power special attacks, voiceover from the entire cast (including Seth Green and others)… it’s really amazing.”
The game is set to demo in mid-November at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions expo.
