If for some reason you were hesitant to give last year’s Gotham Knights a shot and you happen to be in the Xbox ecosystem, you’re in luck. The 2-player online co-op Bat-Family game wherein you take on the role of either Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood as you investigate the late Batman’s final case is coming to Game Pass on October 3rd.
Gotham Knights faced an uphill battle upon its release. Not only did the Rocksteady Studios developed Arkham series cast a long shadow, the pre-release news that it would be running at 30 fps on consoles and average to middling review scores didn’t exactly help either. Even this website was part of that bandwagon as our initial review was largely unkind.
Through various patches, updates that included multi-floor raids and discounts on its asking price, players have softened somewhat on Gotham Knights after trying it for themselves. It never comes close to reaching the dizzying highs of even Batman: Arkham Asylum, but in our re-review of it published in July, we ended by saying “consider giving it a shot and look for what it is instead of what it isn’t. Who knows, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised.”
Gotham Knights can be accessed through Game Pass on both the Xbox Series S and X, PC and via cloud streaming.
Gotham Knights is available now on the PlayStation and Xbox family of consoles as well as PC.
