Are you a die hard Xbox fan anticipating the next Spider-Man outing from developer Beenox and publisher Activision? Well, you may want to dust off your Xbox 360 then.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to hit stores in North America in just under two weeks on April 29th, three days before the movie it ties into is released in theaters, on just about every major console. Activision has now gone on the record stating the Xbox One SKU is delayed, with no plans to release it in the near future:
“We want to inform you that we are revising our release plans for ASM2 on Xbox One…When and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is [to be determined].”
This statement was reported by MCV, which corroborates listings from the NeoGAF and Gamers Honest Truth which showed a posting of the multiple SKU’s of the games, sans the Xbox One box art. One has to wonder if this has to do with the sales of the Xbox One system, difficulty programming for the system, or a play by Sony, who owns the film rights to Spider-Man, wanting the best possible version on their system by striking a deal with publisher Activision.
