Not too long ago Gamestop stopped taking pre-orders for the Xbox One SKU of this week’s the Amazing Spider-Man 2 and it stopped appearing in promotional material for the game. Activision then issued a statement clarifying that it would not be ready for the April 29th release date for Microsoft’s new hardware, and in fact, maybe not at all.
Unless you absolutely need a retail copy, apparently.
Random people logging into the digital store in various regions started seeing the game available for purchase and download digitally. Major Nelson issued a statement on his blog that this is a legitimate copy of the game for purchase, and if you want to game, you should check your region.
