This fall marks the first animated feature from Disney based on a Marvel property, Big Hero 6. As part of the marketing blitz for that film, the characters will be coming to Disney Infinity 2.0, with the first two having been revealed as Hiro and Baymax:
What’s curious is that the two are market as “Disney Originals” as opposed to Marvel characters. The film is technically of course from Disney, but so is a film like Guardians of the Galaxy, which are branded as a Marvel characters in Disney Infinity 2.0. The only explanation I can offer perhaps is that the “Marvel” branding will be reserved for characters in the live action cinematic universe, which the upcoming animated film does not fall under.
