I’ve come to terms with the Batman: Arkham Knight delay, even wrote about how delays are healthy in the video game industry, but it’s footage like this that makes June 2nd, 2015 feel like an eternity away.
WB Games released the first in what is to be a series of new footage reveals, with the next coming December 1st and the final at Sony’s PlayStation Experience keynote presentation five days later on December 6th. In the footage, which unfortunately I can’t embed, we see just how seamlessly the Batmobile is integrated into the traditional “Arkham” gameplay experience, with the Dark Knight transitioning to and from the vehicle, launching out of it into a controlled glide, and using it to secure hostages as well as for the purposes of infiltration, in the case of the newly released footage, the Ace Chemicals facility.
Outside of the superb Batmobile showcase, the published video also provides a glimpse of the “Fear Takedown” maneuver and a few environmental takedowns that look like they were taken straight out of an Injustice: Gods Among Us match.
You can watch the video at the link below, and I will embed as soon as a format becomes available in which to do so.
UPDATE: Here’s the footage in question:
