Revealed in a late June Nintendo Direct, Batman: Arkham Trilogy is a collection of Batman: Arkham Asylum, City, and Knight as well as all their applicable DLC converted by Turn Me Up Games for the Nintendo Switch. Upon its unveiling, it was given a vague “Fall 2023” release window, but now we know when we can experience Rocksteady Studios’ ground breaking comic book games on Nintendo’s cryptographic sequencer.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy drops October 13th, which puts it in a bit of a tough spot. One can’t argue the Switch could use more comic book games, and a compilation of some of the best ones ever made is a great get. For those without a Steam Deck, the form factor of being able to take these titles on the go is worth the asking price alone.
What casts an overwhelmingly huge shadow though is one of the biggest games of the year, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which arrives a week later on October 20th. While not in direct competition with one another as Insomniac’s latest and Batman: Arkham Trilogy are exclusive to different platforms, one can only assume that given a choice, consumer dollars will probably be allocated towards a new Spider-Man game as opposed to three excellent, but not exactly new, Batman titles.
A reminder that if you’re picking up the physical edition of Batman: Arkham Trilogy, the only game on the cart itself is Batman: Arkham Asylum. Both City and Knight will have to be downloaded.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch October 13th.
