HELLBOY: WEB OF WYRD KICKS OFF SPOOKY MONTH ON OCTOBER 4TH

One of the more pleasant surprises during last year’s Game Awards was the reveal of Hellboy: Web of Wyrd from developer Upstream Arcade and publisher Good Shephard Entertainment. In an era where comic book based video games are chasing realism, Web of Wyrd dazzled by looking like it was animated panels from Mike Mignola’s comics. It also didn’t hurt that the title character was revealed to be voiced by Lance Reddick, who’s now sadly no longer with us.

Throughout 2023, new footage for Web of Wyrd has dropped and each time those looking for a release date or window were left wanting. That was, until yesterday, when it was revealed that Hellboy: Web of Wyrd is arriving October 4th, 2024. Described as a roguelite beat ’em up that’s sure to draw comparisons to the combat of Dark Souls, Web of Wyrd is the first Hellboy console game in over 15 years.

Released alongside the second live-action film in 2008, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Konami published Hellboy: The Science of Evil, itself a brawler featuring the voice of Ron Perlman. The first Hellboy also had a companion title of sorts in the form of a very late PlayStation game with Hellboy: Asylum Seeker. Even with 2 starring roles under their belt, the best way for anyone to play as Hellboy to date though has been through his cameo in Injustice 2.
