ED BOON KONFIRMS VOICES FOR 2 MORTAL KOMBAT 1 DLC FIGHTERS

Rumored, leaked, and finally confirmed as fact during San Diego Comic-Con in July, Peacemaker, Homelander from The Boys, and Omni Man from Robert Kirkman’s Invincible are three guest fighters from the world of comics that will eventually be added to Mortal Kombat 1. Players can access them as part of the Kombat Pack that unlocks when you buy into the premium edition of the highly anticipated fighting game that releases next month.

From their reveal trailer, the trio of comic book characters look like they’re ripped straight out of the shows they appear to be inspired by but no confirmation was given on who was voicing them until today. As part of their gamescom 2023 coverage, IGN spoke to Ed Boon, the co-creator of Mortal Kombat, who revealed that both John Cena and J.K Simmons have provided lines for Peacemaker and Omni-Man respectively.

Boon did not say that Anthony Starr, who plays Homelander on The Boys, had gone into the booth. Whether that’s because a deal couldn’t be worked out or they had to decline because of the ongoing actors strike remans to be seen.
