TERRORBYTES: AN UPCOMING DOCUSERIES ABOUT HORROR GAMES INCLUDING THE WALKING DEAD

Last year we were given early access to a wonderful documentary titled FPS: First Person Shooter. It explored the evolution of a genre once called DOOM clones that eventually evolved into easily one of the most popular styles of video games on the market.

Now the people behind FPS are working on a follow up, this time focused on horror games. Titled TerrorBytes: The Evolution of Horror Gaming, the 5-part series from writer/director Richard Moss and producer Daniel Richardson aims to celebrate over 40 years of spooky video games and the people who helped bring them to life.

A short list of confirmed developers set to appear in TerrorBytes includes:

  • Sierra co-founders Ken and Roberta Williams
  • Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka
  • The Walking Dead: The Final Season writer Mary Kenney
  • Clock Tower director Hifumi Kouno
  • Alone in the Dark writer/designer Hubert Chardot
  • Dead By Daylight leads Mathieu Coté and Dave Richard
  • id Software co-founder John Romero
  • Frictional Games co-founder Thomas Grip
  • Slay the Princess creators Abby and Tony Howard

Announce recently via the docuseries’ social media are three new interviewees: Denis Dyack (Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requeim; Sam Barlow (Silent Hill: Origins/Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Yoshiro Kimura (Shadows of the Damned).

Supporters of the pre-sales campaign will receive much more than just the finished five
hour-long episodes. The campaign includes an assortment of exclusive limited-run collectable
