NEWS ROUND UP: TMNT: SPLINTERED FATE GETS NEW DLC AND MARVEL VS. CAPCOM SHADOW DROPS ON XBOX

Last year, the once Apple Arcade exclusive roguelike Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate made its way to both Nintendo Switch and PC. Back in August of 2024, developer Super Evil Megacorp unveiled a roadmap to extend the life of their game that included DLC and the first piece dropped this week. Titled “Casey Jones & the Junkyard Jam”, it adds a new character, usurpingly it’s Casey Jones, and a new area populated with never before seen threats including additional bosses.

In Canada, the add-on is a mere $8.99 which is more than reasonable and a great excuse to hop back into a terrific game. I streamed it on my twitch channel earlier this week and had a blast playing with Casey, even on my own. To access the new area, all you have to do is beat Karai and take the branching path.

When the bombshell announcement for the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics collection happened last summer, those who only play in the Xbox ecosystem were left with no way to access it. Physical copies were planned for PlayStation and Nintendo devices after digital launch plans for both of those consoles plus PC but sadly nothing for Microsoft’s platform.

Capcom later reversed that decision, and said that Xbox faithful could expect the compilation in 2025. During a preview event for their upcoming releases on Tuesday, the publisher shadow dropped Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics onto Xbox at a discounted price for early adopters. As of this writing, the game is on sale for $54.39 in Canada, down from its regular price of $67.99. As it’s an Xbox One release, it’s playable on that family of consoles plus the Series S and X.

Right now there’s no physical release planned for Xbox users.
