A new trailer came out detailing exactly how Batman: Arkham City will be different from its PS3/360 counterparts outside of shinny, glossy Batman when it comes out for Wii U:
I’ll admit, some of the features like the quick select on the pad, the map, and the hacking are pretty cool but not rush out and buy another system cool. That being said, this is coming from a guy who bought Resident Evil 4 for Wii within a week of its release despite owning it on two different systems. Arkham City is definitely not a bad choice for anyone planning to pick up a Wii U in the fall by any stretch of the imagination, but with the GOTY editions for the other systems dropping price ($39 at Gamestop, $29 at Bestbuy until Oct. 18 by my checking), I can see it being more of a curiosity later down the road when the price drops for most people.
Should the system take off, it would be interesting to see what they could do with that controller for that series for a game built from the ground up. One of the things I lament about the Wii was not seeing a proper Resident Evil game outside of the rail shooters, as RE4 worked really well with that control scheme.
