“Arrow” star and fellow Canadian Stephen Amell is not shy when it comes to voicing the Green Arrow character in a video game. Though it was a small role, Amell did provide the voice for the alternate “Arrow” skin for the Green Arrow character in the fighting game Injustice: Gods Among us.
From a posting on his facebook page, Amell made the following statement:
“I’m voicing Green Arrow for a popular video game franchise tomorrow.”
So what does this mean exactly? E3 week has come and gone and the only two DC games presently in production are Batman: Arkham Knight and Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Does this simply mean that he’ll be simply providing the voice for a mini-fig Green Arrow? The character was playable in 2012’s Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes but was not part of the story. With the rest of the DC universe playing a larger role in the game, the popularity of the “Arrow” show on the CW and the appearance of Hawkeye in Lego Marvel Super Heroes, you can bet Green Arrow will be in the game, whether or not he’s voiced by Amell.
Or perhaps the folks at Rocksteady are going to surprise us with a Green Arrow appearance in their final “Arkham” opus that will segue into a possible full on Green Arrow game? Rocksteady did introduce alternate playable characters with Catwoman and Robin in Batman: Arkham City, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could be making an appearance, either as part of the main plot or perhaps as a character for some challenge maps like Harley Quinn.
