Perhaps one of the biggest headline grabbing pieces of comic book news from this summer was the shuffle of Sam Wilson into the role of Captain America and a yet unnamed female protagonist who is deemed worthy enough to lift Mjolnir and become the new Mighty Thor. If you’re currently following the ongoing Thor comic series written by Jason Aaron, you’ll know that this new heroine made her debut in comic form this week and pretty soon she’ll be making her way into the video game world as well.

The new Thor: Goddess of Thunder will become a new legendary rank character in Marvel Puzzle Quest to celebrate it’s one year anniversary along with Devil Dinosaur and some other returning fan favorites. Unlocking the new Thor will be a challenge for more casual players of Marvel Puzzle Quest, however everyone can see the new character in action as part of a player-versus-player match up event being added on October 17th.
