LEGO MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS COMING THIS FALL

If you haven’t noticed from a lot of my articles, I’m a HUUGGGEE fan of the Lego games, as in spending anywhere between 30-40 hours in some of the more recent games trying to get every single last piece of content out of them. Today I’m overcome with joy over what the folks at TT and WB Games have announced to the world today. They have not one, but TWO games that I may just run out and pay for right now.

The first will be coming this summer and was hinted at in the post-credits sequence of last fall’s Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham: Lego Jurassic World. Though the title leads you to believe that the game will focus solely on the new film coming this year, it will actually encompass all of the films in the franchise: Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park II, Jurassic Park III and of course, Jurassic World.

The second is a game I hoped against hope would happen, Lego Marvel’s The Avengers. This will not be a follow-up to 2013’s phenomenal Lego Marvel Super Heroes, but a Lego retelling of 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers and its sequel Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, amongst a few other surprises. Here’s hoping it includes Lego retelling of other Phase 1 and 2 movies with voice clips lifted from the films just like Lego Lord of the Rings and Lego The Hobbit did.

In the announcement of these games, it was also unveiled that Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham would be making its way to iOS. Historically mobile ports of the Lego games have been based on the dedicated handheld games, and it that is the case, mobile fans are in for a treat.
