Back when it was released on Facebook back in 2012, Marvel: Avengers Alliance was the first game that would transition Marvel’s interactive division from a company who released traditional games on consoles and handhelds to one who more or less solely focused on mobile and free-to-play offerings. Now close to four years later, the game that started it all is getting a sequel in the appropriately titled Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2.
Taking a page from Jonathan Hickman’s run on both Avengers and New Avengers, and the still ongoing Secret Wars event, Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2 has the super powered community investigating into parts of the planet that are vanishing from existence. The locations where these strange happenings are occuring happen to be the sight of former incursions, or where two universes collide. The villains of the Marvel Universe are using this distraction to steal ISO-8 residue from the incursions sights, and it’s up to you, along with a team of heroes, to put a stop to them.
The sequel is set to launch in limited beta in select countries soon, so keep checking the game’s website https://www.MarvelAvengersAlliance2.com to see if you’re neck of the woods is in the running. Those who sign up on the website will also receive a Power Cell that will grant a chance at unlocking one of the five core members of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Star-Lord, Rocket, Gamora, Drax and Groot, when the game officially launches.
