Skybound, the division of set up by Robert Kirkman to handle the merchandise for his creator owned properties, has found a lot of success in the video game space. Their collaboration with Telltale Games has produced two highly successful, both critically and commercially, seasons of The Walking Dead with a mini-series presently still underway starring Michonne. The Walking Dead is also branching out into the FPS space again, though the first time was not with Skybound, in a partnership with Payday 2 developer Overkill.
Another creator owned property owned by Robert Kirkman with a massive fan base is the comic Invincible. IGN spoke with Skybound Interactive president Dan Murray at this years SXSW and asked if Invincible would also be getting the video game treatment. Murray stated that while nothing is concrete and no deals are inked, the company is “highly motivated” to make an Invincible game and are looking for the right partners who are as equally passionate about the property.
