Upon booting up my PS4 today, I received a notification about a new update for my digitally purchased Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and pondered if it was the free DLC that was promised after the poor launch of the game and its sequel earlier this summer. From Bill Rosemann, the creative director at Marvel Games, Twitter feed comes confirmation that this update is indeed the missing content from the first game and now makes the game complete.
The DLC brings characters like Hawkeye, Hulk, Venom and Doctor Doom to the roster of playable characters among others. These heroes and villains have since disappeared from the digital market places of the consoles they were originally native to, namely the PS3 and Xbox 360, and the only way to play as them was to track down the Xbox 360 exclusive Gold Edition of the game that came with them on disc. If you purchased the game already, you should see the notification of the update when you boot up your console of choice.
