It has not been a pleasant years for the many talented individuals who have worked within Disney’s interactive division. Following the shut down of Disney Infinity, which forced the closure of developer Avalanche Software came the termination of the four year old social game, Marvel: Avengers Alliance. From Polygon, who reported the news from Variety 5% of the 5,000 person workforce, equating to about 250 positions, mainly in the consumer products and digital media staff will lost their jobs. The article states that these positions mostly affect those who were working on video games, including a support staff from Bellevue, WA who were assisting on Marvel: Avengers Alliance as well as other games. I offer my sincerest condolences to those who were affected by this and hope that they land back on their feet soon.
