The PlayStation Experience press conference just ended which among many things had the first unveiling of Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite. From the PlayStation Blog comes the first details of the game starting with a release window: late 2017. Outside of the four characters shown in the trailer: Ryu, Mega Man x, Captain Marvel and Iron Man, the star spangled Avenger Captain America will also be a playable fighter with more characters of course being revealed throughout 2017 leading up to the games release.
Infinite, while being the latest chapter in the now twenty year old Capcom Marvel fighting franchise, will fall back on some more traditional elements of the Vs. Series. Firstly, as opposed to the 3v3 frays of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and 3, the series will go back to the 2v2 battles that were featured in X-Men Vs. Street Fighter through to the first Marvel Vs. Capcom. Returning from Marvel Super Heroes are the ability to use Infinity Gems: power, space, time, reality, soul, and mind to turn the tides of battle in your favour. Unlike the controversial release of Street Fighter V which had its single player story patched in afterwards, Infinite will have single player content out of the gate.
