Xbox One owners can now do more than play comic book games on their console thanks to a new app for publisher IDW. All owners of the console have to do is download IDW’s app, sign up for an account, and then download comics from their publishing library. Issues can be viewed either as standard issues, or in the motion comic format and you can also use this application to view trailers and behind-the-scenes footage, though this feature is set to come at a later date. For those who sign up in the first week, you can view ten volumes at no charge until April 7th including the following:
- TMNT Vol. 1
- Locke & Key Vol. 1
- D4VE
- Star Trek Vol.1
- Ghostbusters Vol.1
- Jem Vol. 1
- Fear & Loathing
- Transformers RiD Vol.1
- Transformers MTMTE Vol. 1
- Judge Dredd Vol. 1
I haven’t had a chance to dive into a lot of these myself, but I can highly recommended IDW’s TMNT book as it’s absolutely terrific. IDW also hopes to add movies, TV programs and other exclusive content owned by them, however like the behind-the-scenes footage and trailers, this will be added in the future.
