A STREET FIGHTER VS. DC WAS PITCHED TO CAPCOM FOR THE PSP

In the eleven year hiatus between Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and 2011’s Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Climax Studios (Silent Hill: Origins, Ghost Rider) attempted to keep the Vs. Series alive by ditching Marvel and going with their major competitor, DC Comics. Video game historian group PtoPOnline recently dug up a pitch document from Climax to Capcom for a Street Fighter Vs. DC, not for consoles, but for Sony’s PSP. The idea never went beyond that so there’s no concept art or gameplay footage, but the video does get into the ambitious ideas that Climax had for the game, including a roster of forty characters including some Vertigo characters like Sandman, Hellblazer and Preacher mixed in with familiar characters like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Climax intended for the game to have both local and online multiplayer with the option to allow players to play cooperatively and used X-Men Vs. Street Fighter as its base line over the Marvel Vs.
