Lego Dimensions, the toys-to-life game from publisher WB Games that united a multitude of bizarre franchises into one Lego-fied universe, is sadly no more. Joining the likes of Disney Infinity which was similarly shuttered last year, Lego Dimensions is the latest casuality in the toys-to-life genre that looks to be going the way of the plastic instrument craze from last decade.. From the official Lego Dimensions Twitter:
The writing has been on the wall for this announcement for some time with rumours of this circulating since earlier this year, (anecdotally I’ve seen Dimensions sets in dollar stores throughout the year) but it’s nonetheless sad to see the game end. On top of having a bunch of great DC Comics characters and vehicles: From various forms of Batman and his rogues gallery via the starter pack and The Lego Batman Movie, Superman, Wonder Woman and more recently characters from Teen Titans GO!, Dimensions also represented a plethora of nostalgic franchises like Ghostbusters and Back to the Future with a lot of respect, and even gave players new Portal content while Valve sits on the franchise.
Despite the closure, there will still be ongoing servers for the game and packs will continue to work and be sold for the near future.
sad…

It is. Year 2 has been plagued with a lot of frustrating bugs and the way Supergirl was added to the game still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I still loved all the time (and money!) that I put into Lego Dimensions.
