E3 2019: TUROK 1 & 2 TO GET PHYSICAL SWITCH RELEASE FROM LIMITED RUN GAMES

One of the games that comes to mind when people think of vintage 3-D games on a Nintendo platform is Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. Before even Goldeneye 007, Acclaim’s game based on the comic book property showed that first-person shooters could indeed be done right on a console. It made a name for itself through several sequels on the Nintendo 64 due to its creative arsenal, like the cerebral bore that dug into enemies skull and was accompanied by a horrific screeching sound. Nightdive Studios resurrected both Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil for PC as well as Xbox One, and this year Turok returned home to Nintendo when it was released digitally on the Nintendo Switch in March.

For those who want to place this new version of Turok next to the N64 originals, Limited Run Games will be making physical releases of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and its sequel later this year. What’s curious about this announcement is that as of this writing, Nightdive has yet to announce Turok 2: Seeds of Evil for the Switch, so hopefully a digital release will be right around the corner for fans to play while they wait for a chance to snag a physical copy. This will be the first time a physical copy of a Turok game has been produced since Turok (2008)an attempt to reboot the franchise by Disney of all people.
