There hasn’t been a new Turok video game since Disney attempted an overhaul of the franchise with Turok (2008). The series has been kept alive through wonderful remasters from Nightdive Studios, but now a new Turok is coming, and it’s not exactly what you expect. Turok: Escape from Lost Valley is an isometric, action game from developer Pillow Pig Games with publishing duties being handled by Universal Studios Interactive Entertainment. As opposed to being a fast-paced run-and-gun like the Acclaim series and subsequent reboot were, this new take on the source material focuses more on mastering two weapons: a bow and a knife. Though it has a cute, chibi art style, Escape from Lost Valley owes more to the 1950’s original Turok as opposed to the extreme ’90’-s makeover that Acclaim did when they claimed ownership of the franchise.
There has been no console announcement for Turok: Escape from Lost Valley, but you can look for it when it launches on Steam for PC on July 25th.
