SHADOW MAN: REMASTERED AVAILABLE NOW ON THE PLAYSTATION AND XBOX FAMILY OF CONSOLES, COMING SOON TO NINTENDO SWITCH.

When we awarded the “Still Waiting” award to the console ports of Shadow Man: Remastered as part of our Game of the Year awards, we had no idea that we wouldn’t be waiting terribly long into 2022. The remaster of the 1999 title based on Acclaim’s take the on property created by Jim Shooter, Steve Englehart and David Lapham for Valiant Comics is available now on the PlayStation and Xbox family of consoles. Nintendo Switch owners will be able to play it on the go or on their TV’s starting January 17th according to the listing on the Nintendo eShop.

Crafted by Nightdive Studios, those who also resurrected Acclaim’s Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Shadow Man: Remastered has been available on various PC launchers since April of last year. Taking a page from franchises like Metroid and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Shadow Man is a search-action game of sorts where the player, as the titular character, explores the labyrinth sized Deadside and our own world to stop the end of the world from coming about.

Not only does this latest edition of Shadow Man resurrect the 1999 cult favorite, it also adds in new areas that were left on the cutting room floor of the original release. Needless to say if you have fond memories of Shadow Man, or have yet to experience it, this is easily the best version to get.
