INJUSTICE 2 TO FOLLOW DOWNLOADABLE CHARACTER TREND OF FIRST GAME AND MORTAL KOMBAT X

Through the use of new downloadable characters, Netherrealm Studios created plenty of incentive to keep coming back to their hit 2013 fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, and the studio implemented a similar strategy with last year’s Mortal Kombat X. With the upcoming release of Injustice 2 next year, Netherrealm hopes to continue this trend of adding post release content to make sure fans are continuously invested in the game. From studio head Ed Boon in an interview with IGN:

“One of the things we’ve been doing, trying to do more and more with every game… is to support it for a longer period of time,…With DLC characters, we’ve had four with Mortal Kombat, six with Injustice, eight with Mortal Kombat X, and with Injustice 2 we plan on continuing that pattern,”. He added that the approached they’re taking with Injustice 2 with respect to DLC is “…more aggressive than we’ve been in the past.”

Injustice 2 is set to launch in 2017.
