Revealed at the 2016 Game Awards via an all to brief teaser trailer, Telltale has gone silent on any real official details regarding their upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, everything from plot, characters, and even a release date. Whether it not it got the go ahead from Telltale to do so, retail giant Gamestop has revealed more than Telltale ever has through a pre-order listing on their website. Gamestop’s website has a listing for a retail disc of Guardians of the Galaxy set for April 25th at $29.99 USD, about ten days before the North American theatrical release of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. Of course this could just be for the retail disc, which tends to launch after the digital episode season premiere: Batman: The Telltale Series launched digitally in August but had a retail season pass disc arrive in September while the latest chapter of The Walking Dead won’t see a retail disc until February, two months after its digital release.

The placeholder listing also lists a synopsis for the game that includes plot details, the cast of characters as the five core ones from the first film (Star-Lord, Rocket, Gamora, Drax and Groot) and the main antagonist as a “her”:

“‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series’ delivers a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. Telltale has yet to list any of this information as fact, but keep checking back here for when they unveil more official details.
