Things have been quiet on the Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite front since its December reveal last year, but Capcom has broken their silence in a big way today, announcing new modes, characters, and even when we can expect to play the hotly anticipated fighting game. Players can expect to get their hands on MvC: Infinite on PS4, Xbox One as well as PC on September 19th, 2017. The game will came in three varities: The standard edition at an MSRP of $59.99 USD; A deluxe edition at $89.99 USD which will unlock six DLC characters and additional costumes including Gladiator Hulk and Command Mission X and finally a collectors edition at $199.99 USD which along with the game and all the content from the deluxe edition will come with four linking dioramas created by TriForce as well as LED powered Infinity Stones. You can pre-order all of these now and doing so will give you Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu skins.
Taking a page from what Netherrealm Studios did with their reboot of Mortal Kombat and the Injustice series, Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite will mark the first time the long-running series will have a story mode. The story will show characters from both franchises combating a universe ending threat when Ultron and Sigma from Mega Man X gather the Infinity Stones and become Ultron Sigma with the goal to eradicate all human life. Joining the likes of Iron Man and Mega Man X as playable characters are Ultron, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Rocket Raccoon, Chun-Li, Strider Hiryu and Chris Redfield. Ultron partner in crime, Sigma, will be the first DLC character added to the game.
