Fans of Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us, based on the Fables series of comics, had reason to get excited when an article was published on VG247 that Telltale was possibly teasing a sophomore season for the property. The reasoning provided by VG247 however was fairly thin, as they pointed to a retweet from voice actor Adam Harrington, who voiced Bigby in the series, of Telltale’s Summer Games Update which will happen at San Diego Comic Con this weekend. VG247 pointed out that Harrington is not very active on the Twitter platform, and only really interacts with the platform when he’s promoting a project he’s a part of. The problem with getting excited about Harrington’s retweet is that he’s also the voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series which should be due for a new episode fairly soon, and TorqueDawg in Minecraft: Story Mode.
Job Stauffer on Twitter was keen to point out that fans were getting false hope about a return to the Fables universe, explaining that Harrington is a regular in Telltale’s projects. Eurogamer.net further reached out to Telltale regarding a second season for The Wolf Among Us and they pointed to a several month old AMA:
“We have been asked over and over again for some insight into the mystery at the end of the finale for TWAU. Something I’ve always wanted to admit is that while we do have a clear answer to who was who at the end of that story… we had also agreed to keep it a mystery for the fans to ponder on their own,” Telltale’s Job Stauffer wrote. “Definitely fun to see all of the theories pour out, and exciting to pay off our neon-noir story with a femme fatale twist.
“Should we ever continue in the world of Fables and The Wolf Among Us… it is generally agreed upon here that we wouldn’t continue that storyline directly, and would leave things an open mystery that’s better left unanswered….”
Even if Telltale does indeed plan to continue The Wolf Among Us, it wouldn’t be the direct conclusion that many were perhaps hoping for as stated.

Yeah, I’m looking forward to season 2 of this game myself. Though I’m sad that I’ll have to wait until next year to play it. I actually agree about keeping the mystery at the end of Season 1 a mystery. Makes the story and game more interesting. You also don’t have to worry about being disappointed with the resolution, as so often happens with these things.

It’ll be interesting to see how they take it considering this is a prequel series to Fables. I’m a bit glad it’s going to be a while as I have to replay this series from start to finish again. The release in 2013-2014 was very staggered and I haven’t had the chance to revisit it despite buying the game again on disc when it came out on PS4.
