Head designer at TT Games, the company behind the Lego series of video games, Arthur Parsons just revealed the latest addition to the list of playable characters in Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 via his Twitter account. That character is Silk, one of the newer additions to the Marvel Universe who only made her debut a little over three years ago in 2014. During the Marvel event Original Sin, it was revealed that Peter Parker was not the only one bitten by the radioactive spider that gave him his powers. A second person, Cindy Moon, was also bit by the spider and also gained the proportionate powers of a spider and organic web-shooters. Cindy was sealed in a bunker by a character named Ezekiel who was trying to protect Cindy from a group of villains known as the Inheritors that consume the essence of those with spider powers until she is freed by Spider-Man ten years after her exile.
After her debut in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man, Silk played a major role in the Spider-Verse event and eventually went on to get her own solo series that ended last year. Despite being a deep, complex character and a terrific addition to the Spider-Man universe, her arrival was quickly over shadowed by Spider-Gwen who debuted in the Edge of Spider-Verse mini-series mere months after Silk’s first appearance and she never quite caught on in the same way that character did.
