Next Tuesday won’t just see the release of the Winter Soldier, Black Widow and Venom as playable characters in Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite, but also two new costume packs as well. The first set, known as “Cosmic Crusaders”, provides new skins for Rocket, Nova, Gamora, Mega Man X, Zero and Strider:
The new skins for both Rocket and Gamora were funnily enough teased in the merchandise for the game that was just released without us realizing it. Funko’s Pop! Vinyl two-packs featuring Gamora and Rocket look as they do in this new set of costumes. Gamora takes on the look she had during the Dan Abnett/Andy Lanning run on Guardians of the Galaxy, while Rocket resembles his early look from Brian Micheal Bendis’ run of the book that started in 2013. The second pack, known as “Stone Seekers”, provides new looks for Spider-Man, Ultron, Mike Haggar, Frank West and Jedah:
It’s great to see that the Superior Spider-Man alternate costume that was once exclusive to buying Spider-Man: Homecoming on PSN is now available to everyone. Like Gamora, both Thanos and Ultron’s new look is inspired by the DnA mega-event series Annihilation: Conquest where Ultron went toe-to-toe with Marvel’s cosmic heroes and Frank West technically brings a third Mega Man character into the game with his Proto Man look. Look for “Cosmic Crusaders” and “Stone Seekers” alongside Black Widow, Venom and Winter Soldier on Tuesday, December 5th. Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
