COULD THESE COMIC BOOK FAVORITES BE COMING TO MORTAL KOMBAT 11?

The post Midway fighting games from NetherRealm Studios have been no stranger to totally out there guest characters, from Kratos and Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat (2011), to the Xenomorph, Leatherface and Jason Voorhees in Mortal Kombat X and most recently with Hellboy and the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2017’s Injustice 2. Mortal Kombat 11 it seems is looking to follow in that trend according to a datamine from someone who managed to get their hands on the game early. From Prima Games, the leaked roster of DLC fighters is set to include:

  • Shang Tsung
  • Joker
  • Nightwolf
  • Terminator
  • Sindel
  • Spawn
  • Ash
  • Fujin
  • Sheeva

Most notable from that list of course is the inclusion of the Clown Prince of Crime, The Joker, who has appeared in each of the Injustice games and 2008’s Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. The other comic book character, Spawn, has been long rumored to appear in a NetherRealm fighting game for the past several years. Spawn at one point was hinted to be coming to the roster of the last Mortal Kombat game and Mortal Kombat co-creator included him in a pole for potential guest characters that could have came to Injustice 2 which also included the Terminator. Todd McFarlane’s most famous creation of course is no stranger to the fighting game arena having appeared in the Xbox original version of Soulcalibur II.

Mortal Kombat 11 arrives tomorrow for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
