Daybreak Studios revealed back in May that they were bringing the close to decade old MMO DC Universe Online to the Nintendo Switch platform. At the time, they were only committing to a vague, “Summer 2019” release date, but now the exact release date has been unveiled: August 6th, which is a little over two weeks from now. Those who have been playing since the game began or picked it up sometime in the years afterwards who want to take their account on the go should be warned though: existing accounts are not able to be transferred to the Switch version, at least not at launch, nor is there any cross-play across platforms to speak of. The reason provided for this is that the Switch port is only able to communicate with Nintendo accounts, but, as it was with titles like Fortnite, this could change sometime down the road.
