Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was revealed as a PlayStation 5 exclusive title, but as of yesterday, we know that it’s also coming to the PlayStation 4. One perk of upgrading to the next-generation version though is that there’s an Ultimate Edition which comes with a remaster of 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man. For those hoping that someday they’ll be able to get a physical PS5 copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man to rest beside Miles’ adventure, you shouldn’t get your hopes up, at least for now. When asked on twitter if Marvel’s Spider-Man would get it’s own separate boxed release, Insomniac Games Community Director James Stevenson simply replied that there’s “no plans for that.”
This doesn’t mean that they won’t change their mind in the future or simply sell the digital copy on its own. Right now though, Sony needs to incentive people to buy PlayStation 5 games and software, and there’s no better way to do that than with a remaster of one of this generation’s best-selling games bundled with a hotly anticipated first-party offering.. Thanks to Shaun Musgrave from Touch Arcade for the news tip.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is out starting November 12th exclusively on PlayStation 4 and 5.
