In May, the existence of an animated featured based on the Injustice games was revealed. This was via a press release for the second part of the adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween, available this Tuesday July 27th, that stated one of its bonus features would be the first trailer for the yet to be formally announced film. Today, the Hollywood Reporter broke the news about Injustice’s cast which includes:
- Justin Hartley (Smallville) as Superman
- Anson Mount (Star Trek: Discovery) as Batman
- Yuri Lowenthal (Marvel’s Spider-Man) as Mirror Master/Flash/Shazam
- Laura Bailey (The Last of Us Part II) as Lois Lane/Rama Kushna
- Gillian Jacobs (Invincible) as Harley Quinn
You can read the full cast at the link below. Though no date was given, Injustice is slated to arrive in the fall from a script written by Ernie Altbacker (Batman: Hush). Direction duties fall on Matt Peters (Justice League Dark).
While Injustice is based on the popular fighting game series from Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios, it also borrows from the comic book tie-in, Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One written by Tom Taylor. Both are set in a world where after a terribly tragedy, Superman, along with other followers, subjugate the world, sparking Batman to start a rebellion against his former friend.
