One of the more surprising game announcements from earlier this year was that a publisher by the named of Microids was resurrecting 2003’s XIII for the current generation of consoles. During the announcement, the cel-shaded first-person shooter reimagining was given a release date of November 13th later this year. Now publisher Microids has announced that the game will miss that window and instead will arrive sometime in 2020. From Microids head of production Francois Coulon.
“We are thrilled with PlayMagic’s work so far. This additional development time is needed to reach the level of polish we’re aiming for. The announcement was greeted by an overwhelming response from the community and we’ll make sure to deliver the best possible game to our fans.”
XIII will arrive on the PS4, Xbox one, Switch and PC. Read my review of the 2003 original HERE.
