SQUARE ENIX PRESENTS: BLACK PANTHER COMING TO MARVEL’S AVENGERS “LATER THIS YEAR”

Marvel’s Avengers launches on Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 today, along with Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect, a story expansion that will bring the fan favorite archer into the game with a new villain, Maestro, and wasteland area.

Square Enix held a digital event today, Square Enix Presents, that shed some further insight about what players can expect from their ongoing Avengers game moving forward. During the spring, Tachyon Anomaly events will allows users to finally play as the same character together. This will be followed by Red Room takeover, which are a series of Black Widow inspired HARM rooms that could land alongside Marvel’s Black Widow should that film actually come out.

Moving into the summer, the Scientist Supreme, Monica Rappaccini, will be added to Marvel’s Avengers small cast of villains. Co-op specific missions, cloning lab raids, and content suited to those who have characters at max level will also arrive. Marvel Cinematic Universe outfits are also coming.

The biggest news is that Black Panther has been officially revealed to be the next character that is coming to the roster in an Operation titled “War for Wakanda.” In the brief trailer, voice over could be heard from Ulysses Klaw as performed by Steve Blum, hinting at the villains addition to the game. Sadly, only a vague “later this year” window was given for this content.
