During the grand unveiling of Marvel’s Avengers at E3 2019, an event that seems like it was ages ago, the news that followed the game’s announcement was that there was going to be a beta prior to launch with PlayStation 4 owners getting hands-on time first. We’re now less than two months out of the September release of Marvel’s Avengers, and IGN, through their exclusive coverage of the game, has got the info on the dates when the beta will go live. It will look as follows:
- August 7 – PlayStation preorder Beta access begins
- August 14 – Xbox and PC Preorder beta access begins, PlayStation open beta also begins
- August 21 – Open beta across all platforms begins
This is of course if you’ve pre-ordered the game. For those who did so through a retailer, you may want to check with them about how to go about gaining access. Prior to the beta, Crystal Dynamics will host another War Table event similar to the one from late last month. Expect that on July 29th at 10AM PST. From Shaun Escayg, creative director on Marvel’s Avengers:
“We built the beta in such a way that you can experience most of things that you’ll be doing in the full game,…That means playing a piece of the original single-player Avengers story campaign, fighting through co-op missions, experiencing hero and world progression, and exploring War Zones and DROP ZONES, a new kind of mission we’ll talk about in the upcoming War Table on July 29. This beta is meaty, but it’s only a small part of the finished game.”
Marvel’s Avengers arrives September 4th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.
